Previous EULAR Congresses

Since 1983 EULAR has organised an annual symposium, aside from the years of the EULAR congress or an ILAR congress in Europe. As the annual symposium became a large rheumatological event, the EULAR Executive Committee decided to discontinue the annual symposium and to hold an annual congress instead. The last symposium took place in Geneva, Switzerland, in September 1998, and the last quadrennial congress in Glasgow, Scotland, in June 1999. Since 2000, EULAR has been organising an Annual European Congress of Rheumatology.
