Postgraduate Course in Rheumatology (annual)
With the two-yearly Postgraduate Course, EULAR seeks to harmonise and update the professional
knowledge of European rheumatologists, whilst giving the participants the opportunity to meet and
exchange ideas and experiences.
The Postgraduate Course is aimed at junior rheumatologists at the end of their training (at least
four years of postgraduate training) but is open to all rheumatologists.
The scientific basis of rheumatology (immune responses and their control, mechanism of tissue
damage and pathogenesis of rheumatic diseases) is reviewed in the course as well as the clinical
aspect of rheumatic diseases. At last the EULAR postgraduate course focuses on major topics like
early arthritis; osteoarthritis; spondylarthritis, reactive arthritis; Sjogren, scleroderma, MCTD;
SLE, vasculitis; soft tissue rheumatism and fibromyalgia; septic arthritis and gout; osteoporosis;
imaging and lab testing.
Participant's opinion
Read what a recent participant says about his course experience:
« I quickly realised that this was THE course on rheumatology I was
looking for. All the major topics were presented by well-known professors of Europe,
discussing the different aspects of the diseases and the evidence-based management around
them. I particularly enjoyed the break-out sessions in which we had the opportunity to
discuss real rheumatologic cases in small groups and to address our queries and problems
in diagnosing and management of them.»
