EULAR Course on Capillaroscopy and Rheumatic Diseases

This course (basic and advanced) takes place every 2 years and is intended to teach the proper methodology and practical use of the capillaroscopic investigation of the nailfold bed in normal and pathological conditions at two levels of expertise.

Participants of the basic course will learn how to distinguish the different nailfold videocapillaroscopy (NC) patterns characterizing the major connective tissue diseases associated or not with secondary Raynaud's phenomen (RP).

Participants of the advanced course will improve their basic skills with integrated lessons on practical application of NV in case resolution, prognostic value and therapy follow up with updated integrations to their expertise on the field.
Participants of both courses will be involved in theoretical and practical capillaroscopic sessions involving rheumatic patients.

After the course, basic course participants will have attained knowledge in the use of the capillaroscopic tools and will be able to recognize and describe all the major NC patterns. After the course, advanced course participants will have improved their skills in NV by making differential diagnosis on living clinical cases and discussing the prognostic value of quantified NV in the disease follow up.
