EULAR Workshop on Epidemiology in Rheumatic Diseases

The elaboration of a research protocol in epidemiology must follow standard rules for research and specific requirement for epidemiological designs. Some basic knowledge is necessary to define a clear research protocol with suited design adapted to the research objectives.

The workshop is provided on an optional basis ans demand arises.It is designed for rheumatologist willing to prepare research application in one of selected topics of epidemiology. Participants have to submit an outline of their research idea before the start of the workshop. During the workshop, participants learn about the basics, common rules and requirements in epidemiology. Furthermore the course covers the topics of a main area of research design as well as practical based on articles critical appraisal.

At the end of the workshop, each participant should have the whole structure of her/his research protocol set, with key methodological points solved and specified.
