two-year alteration. In one year, three junior and one more senior academic rheumatologist from
Europe will travel to the US, the following year three junior and one more senior academic
rheumatologist from the US will travel to Europe.
The programme was introduced in 1998 to provide aspiring adult and pediatric rheumatology junior

knowledge and experience and to promote collaborative relationships. In addition, the programme
fosters the alliance between the ACR and EULAR and assists in identifying future leaders within
both organizations.
The 2-week programme includes attendance at the EULAR Annual Congress or the ACR Annual Meeting
respectively as well as an itinerary for visiting 3-4 academic centres relevant to the
participant's interests.
