EULAR European cross-sector activities

 

Politics have a fundamental impact on the conditions under which researchers and health professionals do their work and under which people with rheumatic diseases live their lives. Influencing politics is therefore a key function of an umbrella organisation like EULAR.

 

In its political work, EULAR has to recognise the strong interdependences between the European Union and its Member States on the one hand, and between policy fields (health, research, social etc.) on the other hand.

 

EULAR has therefore developed a range of initiatives to bring decision-makers, practioners and patients together. The ultimate aim of these activities is to improve the lives of dozens of millions of people affected by rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.

 
World Arthritis Day (WAD)

The World Arthritis Day is a global awareness-raising day. It takes place every year on 12 October. EULAR traditionally uses WAD to present new and innovative approaches facilitating the life of people with rheumatic conditions in Europe. In the future, the World Arthritis Day will increasingly become an opportunity to meet around events organised by EULAR.
