European activities

Over the last few years, EULAR has made considerable efforts to develop its European presence through a great variety of activities and actions at the European level. The new Alliance Against Arthritis initiative was created in 2004 to contribute to making EU decision-makers aware of the need for fighting against one of Europe’s major health threats. EULAR has applied and received the status of a regular or observer member in several advisory structures attached to the European institutions. Major successes have been achieved at the Community legislative front where the profile and importance of rheumatic diseases have been greatly raised. Not least, several major events organised in Brussels have additionally contributed to considering EULAR an active and engaged European health organisation.
