AFLAR
The African League against Rheumatism 

 

The African League against Rheumatism (AFLAR) is a Regional League created in Cairo in August 1989 by the delegates of thirteen National Societies (Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Zaire, Cameroun, Kenya, Nigeria, Togo, Congo, Republic of Centrofrica). It was admitted as the fourth Regional League of ILAR by the Assembly of ILAR in September 1989. South Africa was admitted by the General Assembly in 1991 as the fifteenth member, Libya will be the next member.

5th AFLAR Congress

The 5th international AFLAR Congress was held in Nairobi, Kenya, 18-22 February 2007. The theme of the congress was: "Practice of Rheumatology in Africa: Challenges and Opportunities".
