Standing Committee for Clinical Affairs

The aims of the Standing Committee for Clinical Affairs (ESCCA) are to develop recommendations and criteria for specific musculoskeletal conditions, and to endorse the establishment of dedicated task forces and support their ongoing function.

For initiatives with international relevance, such as development and validation of criteria sets or development of recommendations for conducting clinical trials, the Standing Committee seeks collaboration with the Quality-of-care Committee of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) through its Criteria subcommittee. EULAR and ACR strive for a transparent and collaborative relationship in order to avoid overlaps and realize synergies.

Chairman: Prof. Iain McInnes, United Kingdom

Chairman-elect: Dr. Daniel Aletaha, Austria

Project applications

EULAR welcomes project applications from rheumatologists all over Europe. Applicants are asked to fill in the official EULAR project application form and submit it to the chairman of ESCCA at least 6 weeks prior to an upcoming Executive Committee meeting (in general mid-March and second-half of September).

Applications will be presented and discussed at the Executive Committee meeting, during which the decision to endorse it or not will be taken. A positive answer from the Executive Committee includes financial support for the initiative.
