Standing Committee of Paediatric RheumatologyMission and setup
The mission of the Standing Committee of Paediatric Rheumatology is to improve the care for children with rheumatic diseases in Europe. It consists of elected representatives of national societies for paediatric rheumatology. An ongoing theme is to develop the relationship between EULAR and the Paediatric Rheumatology European Society (PReS), to ensure synergy between the organisations and avoid duplication of effort. The remit of the standing committee covers several areas in paediatric rheumatology, including the clinical care of children and adolescents with rheumatic disease, education and training in paediatric rheumatology and research in children and young people of relevance to rheumatic diseases across the age spectrum.
The Standing Committee of Paediatric Rheumatology, as a part of the scientific committee of EULAR, is responsible for convening the paediatric sessions in the EULAR annual congress. It ensures up-to-date scientific sessions that will be of interest to interested physicians and health care professionals irrespective of their background. Combined EULAR-PReS meetings are held biennial. A high quality, high profile scientific programme covering both basic and clinical science directed to both paediatricians and internists caring for paediatric rheumatic diseases has been implemented successfully. Sponsorship for attending EULAR and PReS meetings has been established.
The standing committee meets every year during the EULAR congress and informs the paediatric rheumatology scientific sessions of all EULAR meetings. |
