EULAR Ultrasound Courses
a) The EULAR Ultrasound Course is a tri-level course (basic, intermediate, and advanced), which is also endorsed by the Education Standing Committee and it is animated and scientifically lead by members of the SCMI formally called "EULAR sonography course faculty members".
b) The EULAR Course for Ultrasound Trainers in Rheumatology takes place prior to the formal EULAR Ultrasound Course. The main objective is to standardise the teaching and organisation of US courses in order to insure a standard quality for future organisers/teachers of international US courses scientifically endorsed by EULAR.
c) The EULAR Online Introductory Ultrasound Course started formally in September 2012, with the objective to spread the use of US in rheumatic diseases by producing a theoretical approach to the technique and to improve the basic knowledge of the use of ultrasound before starting formal hands on courses.
Courses scientifically endorsed by EULAR
a) Basic or intermediate ultrasonography courses, and ultrasound focused workshops (theoretical and practical courses) are being held in several European countries. The successful participation in the EULAR Course for Ultrasound Trainers for people interested in organising ultrasound courses scientifically endorsed by EULAR is mandatory.
b) The Sonoanatomy Course is run by Ingrid Moller and Esperanza Naredo (Spain), with the participation ofo all faculty members of the EULAR Ultrasound Courses and several radiologists very well known in the field of Musculoskeletal US.
Ultrasound practical skills sessions at the EULAR Congress
These sessions are very popular and well attended. They show, throughout theoretical lectures, clinical cases and face to face discussions with European experts, the actual and future development of ultrasound and its application to research and daily practice.
MRI practical skills sessions at EULAR meeting
This workshop (led by Mikkel Østergaard) is being held every year during the EULAR Congress. It is very popular and well attended. Again the session shows throughout theoretical lectures, clinical cases and face to face discussions with international experts, the actual and future development of MRI and its application to research and daily practice.
