PARE Interviews
Why PARE Sessions Matter
In this interview, Sara explains why PARE Sessions are so valuable and which session had the greatest impact on her.
Tanita: Sara Badreh, you presented the PARE Highlights at the end of the EULAR 2026 Congress. Why do you think PARE Sessions are so important and what makes them special?
Sara: I think that if we really want to make research in RMDs patient-focused and learn what patients' priorities are for real-life impacts, we need to hear directly from patients about what they want and need.
Tanita: Why would you recommend to rheumatologists to attend PARE Sessions?
Sara: In the PARE Sessions, you will hear first-hand from patients as they share their lived experiences and explain what changes are needed to improve their quality of life. Most importantly, you will hear what an improved quality of life looks like from their perspective.
What makes these sessions especially valuable is that clinicians will also explain how they have tried to adhere to that so that you can learn and bring that example with you to your own practice.
Tanita: There is still the possibility to watch the content On-Demand until the end of this year. If you would recommend to watch a session On-Demand, which one would you recommend and why?
Sara: I would recommend everyone to see the 'PARE Abstract Session: Evidence meets Experience' where Stene Prize Winner, Yusra Momade read her essay titled: 'It is all in the genes, or not?'. It was such a moving moment and you could feel her pain when she walked you through her experience receiving a diagnose such as scleroderma and how it changed everything around her. Beyond treatments and side effects and clinical aspects. Just real life things.
