EULAR Awards
In recognition of special achievements in the field of rheumatic diseases, EULAR has established a programme of special awards that are granted each year.
EULAR Abstract Awards
EULAR Abstract Award winners are selected by the EULAR Scientific Programme Committee from submitted abstracts to the
EULAR European Congress of Rheumatology
based on the quality of scientific content.
EULAR Meritorious Service Award
Rheumatologists who have served rheumatology in an outstanding way, either by scientific research, clinical science or through their activities in EULAR, national or international organisations are awarded at the European Congress of Rheumatology with a Meritorious Service Award.
EULAR Health Professionals in Rheumatology Lifetime Achievement Award
From 2022, EULAR will award Health Professionals in Rheumatology (HPR) who have been judged by the EULAR Board to have served rheumatology in an outstanding way, either by scientific activities, development of clinical practice, educating in multiple contexts or through their activities in EULAR, national or international organisations. Applications for the EULAR HPR Lifetime Achievement Award will be considered every second year.
EULAR PARE Outstanding Achievement Award
From 2023, EULAR will award PARE representatives or supporters (e.g. staff or volunteer of a PARE organisations) who have been judged by the EULAR Board to have served the EULAR PARE community and EULAR PARE aims in an outstanding way, by having made a considerable difference for people with RMDs in Europe through their commitment and contributions within EULAR PARE. Applications for the EULAR PARE Outstanding Achievement Award will be considered every third year.
EULAR Edgar Stene Prize
Awarded annually at the EULAR European Congress of Rheumatology , the Edgar Stene Prize awards a winner of a annual essay contest, open to patients.
EULAR Honorary Members
As a mark of distinction, the Board may elect as Honorary Members natural persons who have rendered outstanding service in accomplishing the objectives of EULAR.

The European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology, EULAR, is the organisation which represents the people with arthritis/rheumatism, health professionals in rheumatology (HPR) and scientific societies of rheumatology of all the European nations.
EULAR European Congress of Rheumatology
Since its introduction in 2000, the annual EULAR European Congress of Rheumatology has become the primary platform for exchange of scientific and clinical information in Europe. It is also a renowned forum for interaction between medical doctors, scientists, people with arthritis/rheumatism, health professionals and representatives of the pharmaceutical industry worldwide. The EULAR congress is usually held in June in one of the major cities in Europe.
