EULAR Network of Imaging Centres
The major aim of a EULAR network of imaging centres is to attract rheumatologists and/or trainees in rheumatology who will be educated in a particular imaging technique or in developing research projects.
Interested European centres can either apply as "training centre" or "research centre" to become part of the experts network, provided they are able and willing to offer training and/or develop research programmes in one or several of the following imaging techniques applied in rheumatology:
- conventional radiography
- magnetic resonance imaging
- computed tomography (CT)
- micro-CT
- ultrasound in RMDs
- dual energy CT
- position emission tomography (PET)-CT
- capillaroscopy
- optical imaging
The call is under the supervision of the Research Committee and each centre application will be carefully reviewed by the EULAR Research Committee and the Education Committee.
Once established as an Imaging Centre
- The centre will receive a five-year distinction that may freely be used to support grant applications, academic awards etc. and a digital EULAR certificate for public display.
- After 5 years upon designation, the centre can reapply for prolongation.
- The centre will be listed in the EULAR Network of Imaging Centres List.
